“Equal parts heartfelt, hilarious, and boisterous, Irish State of Mind is…a spirited musical celebration of friendship, drinking, and the stories that bring people together” -NYS Music
Irish State of Mind
One late night in Dublin, rain lightly pelting the window, a Nashville songwriter picked up a borrowed guitar and strummed out the first few chords of a pub song he’d penned. Minutes later, to a thundering applause and a “whiskey on the house” offered by the lovely red headed bartender Léan, that same lad stepped off the stage and into a new chapter of his life. Irish State of Mind hands you a pint and bids you sit and stay awhile, to laugh and sing along with the catchy melodies and witty lyrics. Seven Irish born performers lend their talents and traditional instruments the tracks, offering up haunting laments on the uilleann pipes, somber soprano goodbyes, and hammering bodhran rhythms. The result is a nine song album that will find your feet walking you out the door and to the local pub for a bit of revelry.
